This was way more fun than I’d expected. He tells a great, wacky story with some excellent characters.
I think I had expected the gimmick of the dead man’s voice to wear a little thin after a while but the damaged Ruddy McCann is an excellent companion for his voice. Sure, it’s a little implausible, but the writing is crisp and fun and worth suspending your disbelief for.
